The best AI presentation makers in 2026, compared honestly

In short

There's no single best tool. Gamma is the most popular and cheapest to start; Canva is best if you design more than decks; Copilot and Gemini are the obvious choice inside Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace; Beautiful.ai suits teams that want brand guardrails; ChatGPT and Claude now make slides too. DeckLume is for decks that must be built from your own files, in your brand, and handed over as an HTML file or an editable PowerPoint.

How we compared

We looked at what matters once a deck has to go out: where it comes from (a prompt, your files, a link), how much control you have over the brand, what you can hand over at the end (a link, a file, an editable PowerPoint), what the free plan really includes, and what it costs.

DeckLume

Describe the deck, attach your files and website, and DeckLume plans the story with you (you approve an outline first), then designs every slide in your brand, read from your website or a brand kit. Every deck is one self-contained HTML file that opens offline in any browser, and can be downloaded as an editable PowerPoint with native charts and tables. The free plan gives 20 AI slides a month, and exports never carry a badge. The interface speaks seven languages. Best for: founders, consultants, sales teams and teachers who need decks built from real material.

Gamma

The best-known tool in the category: Gamma reported 70 million users and $100 million in annual recurring revenue in November 2025. It generates decks from a prompt or from PowerPoint, Word and PDF files, web links, Google Drive and Notion. Plans cost $9 (Plus), $18 (Pro) and $90 (Ultra) per seat a month on annual billing; the free plan gives 400 credits once, and free-plan PDF and PowerPoint exports carry a "Made by Gamma" badge. Best for: quick decks at a low price. DeckLume vs Gamma.

Canva

A design platform with more than 1.6 million templates. Canva AI drafts an outline and then a presentation, and exports to PowerPoint, PDF, images and video. Pro costs US$12 a month billed yearly; the free plan includes one Brand Kit with three colours. Best for: people who design more than decks. DeckLume vs Canva.

Copilot in PowerPoint

Copilot creates decks inside PowerPoint from a prompt and a template you choose, or from a Word file (work licences can also use a PDF), and applies your organisation's Brand Kit on work licences. Microsoft 365 Personal (US$9.99 a month) includes it with AI credit limits; the business add-on costs US$30 a user a month, paid yearly. Best for: organisations already on Microsoft 365. DeckLume vs Copilot.

Gemini in Google Slides

Since June 2026, Google Slides can create a full, editable presentation from a prompt, using files from Drive and a reference deck for the style, with an outline to approve first. It's available on eligible Google Workspace plans (such as Business Standard, from US$14 a user a month) and Google AI Pro and Ultra, in English (US) on desktop. Best for: teams on Google Workspace.

Beautiful.ai

Creates a deck from a prompt plus documents, PDFs or links, with an outline first, and offers theme building, branded themes and, on Enterprise, brand guardrails. There's no free plan, only a 14-day trial that needs a card. Pro costs $14.50 a month billed annually ($45 billed monthly); editable PowerPoint and Google Slides export comes with the paid plans. Best for: teams that need guardrails. DeckLume vs Beautiful.ai.

ChatGPT and Claude

General assistants now make slides too. ChatGPT Slides (rolling out to Pro, Business and Enterprise since October 2026) exports to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides, and the ChatGPT for PowerPoint add-in works on every plan. Claude's slides are on every plan and export to PDF, HTML, PowerPoint and Google Slides; in its PowerPoint exports, charts, icons and shapes become pictures. Best for: drafting the story; see how to make a presentation with ChatGPT.

Questions

What is the best free AI presentation maker?

It depends on the free plan you need. DeckLume's free plan gives 20 AI slides every month, with no badge on exports; Gamma gives 400 credits once and adds a "Made by Gamma" badge to free exports; Canva, Pitch and Claude have free plans; Beautiful.ai has a trial only.

Which AI presentation makers export to PowerPoint?

DeckLume (on every plan), Gamma, Canva, Beautiful.ai (paid plans), ChatGPT Slides, Claude and Gemini Notebook all export PowerPoint files. How editable they are varies: Claude's PowerPoint exports turn charts and shapes into pictures, while DeckLume's keep native charts and tables.

Can AI make a whole presentation?

Yes. All the tools above can produce a full deck from a prompt. The difference is what it's built from (only a prompt, or your files and website), how close it gets to your brand, and what you can do with it afterwards.

Is it safe to put company documents into an AI presentation tool?

Read each tool's privacy terms before you upload. DeckLume doesn't use your files or decks to train AI models, and treats attached documents as data, not instructions.
