Turn a PDF or a document into a presentation

In short

Upload a PDF, Word document, PowerPoint, spreadsheet or plain notes, say who the presentation is for, and DeckLume reads the file, builds a storyline from what's inside and designs the slides in your brand. You check the outline before anything is designed, then refine by chat or by hand and present, share or download it.

A live DeckLume deck, not a screenshot. Click it and use the arrow keys, or open it full screen (opens in a new tab).

How it works

  1. Attach your filesPDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx), CSV, Markdown or plain text, up to 25 MB each. Several files can feed one deck.
  2. Say what the deck is forA line or two is enough: the audience, the length and what it needs to achieve. "A 10-minute summary of this report for the leadership team, focused on the three recommendations."
  3. Review the storylineDeckLume drafts the outline slide by slide from your material. Reorder, rewrite or cut before anything is designed.
  4. Get the designed deckTitles that state each point, charts drawn from the figures in your files, and your colours, fonts and logo if you add your website or a brand kit.
  5. Refine, present, shareAsk for changes in plain words or edit by hand, then present from any browser, share a link or download it for PowerPoint.

Which files work, and what DeckLume reads from them

FileWhat DeckLume uses
PDFThe text of reports, papers, briefs and one-pagers. PDFs need selectable text; a scanned page without a text layer can't be read.
Word (.docx)Headings, paragraphs and lists: the structure of your argument.
PowerPoint (.pptx)An existing deck's content, to rewrite, shorten or restyle it.
Excel (.xlsx), CSVFigures for charts and tables, with the values exactly as in your file.
Markdown, plain textNotes, transcripts and outlines.
Website linkThe content of your main pages, plus your colours, fonts and logo for the design.

From 40 pages to 10 slides: what DeckLume keeps

A presentation isn't a shorter document; it's an argument. DeckLume looks for the point your material makes, the evidence behind it and the numbers that prove it, then builds one slide per point with the point as its title. Tables become charts when a chart is clearer. Quotes stay word for word.

  • Your facts, not invented ones. The deck is built from what your files say. Check the figures before you present, as you would with any draft.
  • Your files are data, not instructions. Text inside a document can't take control of the AI or reach other data.
  • Not used for training. DeckLume doesn't use your files or decks to train AI models.

Tips for a better deck from a document

  • Name the audience. A board, a class and a customer need different decks from the same report.
  • Say the length. "Ten slides" or "a 15-minute talk" keeps the deck from trying to cover everything.
  • Tell it what matters. "Focus on section 3" or "skip the methodology" saves an editing round.
  • Add your website so the deck looks like yours from the first draft.

Questions

Can I convert a PDF to PowerPoint with DeckLume?

DeckLume doesn't copy a PDF page by page; it rewrites the content as a presentation. You can then download the result as an editable PowerPoint file.

Can I turn a Word document into slides?

Yes. Attach the .docx and say who the deck is for; DeckLume builds the storyline from its headings and content.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Only if the PDF has a text layer. A scanned page that is just an image can't be read yet; run it through OCR first or paste the text.

How large can the file be?

Up to 25 MB per file, and you can attach several. A deck can have up to 30 slides on a paid plan; the free plan makes decks of up to 10 slides.

Is it free?

Yes, to start. The free plan includes 20 AI slides a month; Pro raises it to 500 for €24 a month.

Your next deck starts with a sentence.

Describe it, attach what you have, and get a finished deck in your own style. The free plan is yours to keep.
